More than 10,000 objects, collected over 40 years by Loel Thomson OAM, tells the stories of everyday Australians from Federation to the present day. With pieces you’ve never heard of alongside the familiar, old and new and everything in between, there’s something to interest everyone.
The collection also includes an extensive research library, with books and magazines on every conceivable topic relating to fashion and costume. Students are welcome to utilise this by appointment.
MOVE is proud to have been gifted this collection, and is working to maintain Loel’s legacy as well as expand upon it. It is a gift to the region for generations to come.
